Claudia Gómez Wulschner was born in Mexico City. She got a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and an MS and a PhD in Mathematics from Washington State University.

Since 2000 she has been a full time professor at the Academic Department of Mathematics at ITAM. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI).

Claudia has been a professor for more than 35 years. Her research articles deal mainly with Functional Analysis. However she is also interested in education and the dissemination of Mathematics knowledge, about which she has written several articles and four books for young readers and the general public. She is coauthor of several series of Mathematics textbooks intended for Elementary, Junior High School and High School students.
