Our reputation for academic excellence is based opon our student selection, and our excellent faculty. Our professors and researchers are a dedicated group, of which 97.5 % have a graduate degree, and 74.9 % earned a doctoral degree. Additionally, 34.3 % is part of the National System of Researchers.
Holds a B.A. in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), an M.A. in International Relations from New York University, and is a Doctoral Candidate in Political Science for NYU. Since 1998, she had taught Political Science at ITAM, at both the undergraduate and diploma level. She also edits social science texts.
Her academic interests include the history of economic and political development, including the important role technology plays in both, questions of political and social representation, religion and politics, and violence in politics.

Dr. Simpser is professor of political science at ITAM in Mexico City, and faculty affiliate at ITAM’s Center for Economic Research (CIE) and Center for Energy and Natural Resources (CIERN). Prior to joining ITAM in 2014, he was faculty at the University of Chicago’s department of political science. He has been a residential Fellow at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University, and National Fellow at the Hoover Institution. He is a Level II National Researcher in Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. He holds a PhD degree in political science and an MA degree in economics from Stanford University, as well as a B.Sc. degree in environmental engineering sciences from Harvard College. Before entering academia he was employed at the strategy consultancy McKinsey & Co., where he worked on energy projects.

B.A. in Geography and History for the University of Zaragoza in Spain. M.A. in Comparative Public Policy from FLACSO, Mexico. Academic Coordinator and lecturer for the Undergraduate Program in Political Science, lecturer in public policy in the post graduate Economics program, and in the M.A. in Public Policy at ITAM. External advisor to the International Labor Organization.
Her main area of interest include public policy, particularly regarding labor politics, and the role of gender.
